Global Hearts journal – Empowering primary healthcare workers to decentralise NCD care in Mozambique

Unpreparedness of health professionals to address NCDs at peripheral health facilities is a critical health system challenge in Mozambique. To address this weakness and decentralize NCD care, training of the primary care workforce is needed. This article shares our experience in the design and implementation of a cascade training of trainers (ToT) intervention to strengthen the prevention and control of cardiovascular disease. HIP Impact report

Impacts and learnings from our 5-year multi-country ‘Healthcare Innovation Programme’ (HIP). The programme focused on strengthening primary care and tackling NCDs through partnerships with a range of partners, from grassroots NGOs to Ministries of Health.

Evaluation of the UNHCR’s Caring for Refugees with NCDs Project

An external evaluation of this multi-country project, undertaken in partnership between UNHCR and PCI found that the NCD training was recognised as relevant, timely and filling an important gap in NCD knowledge and systems.
