Welcoming New Leadership and Embracing Future Growth at PCI

In an exciting phase of growth and development at PCI, we are delighted to announce Dr Matthew Harris as our new Chair of the Board. A Clinical Senior Lecturer in Public Health at Imperial College London and an Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine, Matthew brings extensive experience in global health and innovation diffusion.

As we welcome Matthew, we also bid a fond farewell to Dorcas Gwata, who has stepped down from the PCI Board for personal reasons. Dorcas’ dedication and contributions have been invaluable, and while we are sad to see her leave, we fully respect her decision and look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with her.

Matthew, our current Vice-Chair, has been a member of the Board for nearly five years. He also has previous experience as a Primary Care physician in Brazil and as a Global Health Advisor to the UK Department of Health, underscoring his deep commitment to health equity and innovation.

We are delighted to also announce that Martha Paren will take on the role of Vice Chair. Martha has been a Member of the Board for nearly two years, and her expertise as a social sector consultant, particularly in scaling social impact, aligns closely with PCI’s vision. Her leadership experience at Spring Impact’s UK office and her work with various health organisations have equipped her with unique insights into the challenges and opportunities in global health.

As we welcome Matthew and Martha to their new roles, we also acknowledge that this transition marks a new chapter for PCI as we continue to expand the reach of our programmes and strengthen our partnerships. With a dynamic team, diverse board, and the unwavering support of our community, we are poised for a future filled with impactful initiatives and sustainable growth.

“As we embark on this new chapter at PCI, I want to express my profound gratitude to Dorcas for her exceptional dedication and invaluable contributions. Her impact on our organisation has been truly significant. As the new Chair, I am enthusiastic about working closely with our diverse group of Clinical Associates and building on our strong partnerships with organisations like the WHO. Together with the entire board and our CEO, we are committed to advancing PCI’s mission of strengthening primary care systems in resource-diverse settings. Our collaborative efforts will be key in driving forward our vision for global health.” Dr. Matthew Harris, Chair, PCI Board.

Thank you for your continued support and belief in our mission. Together, we are committed to advancing global health equity and making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
