Partnerships Manager

 

3 days/week @ FTE £30,000 (depending on skills and experience)

12-month fixed term contract initially with a view to renewing beyond the first year.

Home-based with occasional meetings in Oxford and in London.

We are a dynamic social enterprise looking for a Partnerships Manager to grow our corporate partnerships portfolio. Working flexibly from home, you will play an important role in helping our small, friendly team to diversify revenue streams and expand our programmes.

About Primary Care International (PCI)

PCI was launched as a social enterprise in 2014 by Red Whale | GP Update, one of the UK’s leading providers of continuous medical education (CME) in primary care. We are a small ‘virtual’ team comprised of a team of part-time staff supported by a Board of Directors.

PCI seeks to find sustainable solutions for delivering quality and cost-effective front-line healthcare worldwide. To date we have worked with clinicians in three languages and several countries across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. We are also working in high-income settings like Scandinavia and Australia. PCI seeks specifically to grow the capability of the health workforce to learn and develop, raising clinical care standards, addressing related health systems issues, and ultimately delivering improved health outcomes.

Job Description

This role has been designed to help PCI to:

  • Identify and develop a range of potential corporate partnership opportunities, including investment in our Healthcare Innovation Programme, take-up of PCI CME products and services, and other healthcare-related innovations.
  • Market GP Update courses in international markets (primarily to client organisations but also direct to individuals)
  • Strengthen its marketing strategy and create engaging communications content.

The primary areas of work associated with the role are:

  • Sourcing potential new partnerships through a blend of networking (with support from the wider team) and cold approaches
  • Setting up and participating in meetings with potential partners (face-to-face / phone / Skype)
  • Drafting proposals and other supporting material creating a compelling case for partnership / investment
  • Marketing PCI’s annual 5-Day GP Update course to GPs working internationally
  • Drafting PCI communications content to include regular newsletter, blogs, website copy (when updates are needed), social media.
  • Participating in team meetings and annual strategy days
  • Feeding experience and ideas into overall strategic and operational plans

Person Specification

With a background in either the corporate sector or the non-profit sector, a proven track record of working to develop successful partnerships is essential. Other shortlisting criteria include:

Skills and Experience:

  • A proven ability to balance creative thinking, potential social impact and commercial viability in new partnerships
  • A proactive networker with interest and/or experience in corporate social responsibility, healthcare, social enterprise/non-profit sector and/or international development.
  • Outstanding writing skills and ability to adapt writing style to different audiences
  • Ability to creatively engage with raw material and create compelling documents
  • Excellent communicator with good relationship building skills (including phone/Skype)
  • Experience communicating with diverse people around the world

 We are also looking for the following:

  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities
  • Proactive and takes own initiative to support team working
  • Access to good broadband Internet for home-working
  • An efficient, organised, accurate record-keeper
